Help! Been told baliffs are coming!

    Has this been to court? if so its bailiff but otherwise its likely to be debt collectors saying they are bailiffs. Try bailiffadviceonline for help as they are very good at sorting these out. There may be a small charge.
    It's the DVLA, they don't send debt collectors, it's all done through the courts.
  • IMO its no different to it being a private let, lodger or council tenant .... someone else owns the property but its still the debtors residence.
    It is distinctly different to the private let or the council tenant, because in these cases, the property is demised to the debtor in its entirety.

    The nearest to OP's situation is the lodger, but for this case I would like to see specific advice which does not conflate a lodger with a tenant.
