House insurance - within 400m of water?

Am I right to assume a duck pond would count? It is reasonably sized ie. has an island in the middle for the ducks.
Mum thinks it won't count but I think it will?

I wouldn't think a duck pond counts. It depends on how it was created. A man made pond wouldn't count as water wouldn't be draining into it and has no chance of overflowing flooding neighbouring properties and that's what the insurance company is concerned about.
A duck pond on a river plain created by nature where a river was there and has naturally diverted elsewhere should be declared.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

If you are an MP you should also declare the Duck House in your expenses claim!0

If in doubt you should disclose and let them decide if it applies/relevant.0

Isn't the expression they use "water course"?
That suggests a flow of water, whether natural or artificial.
There is some doubt as to how small a trickle of rain run-off has to be to be too small to count, but appearance on the Environment Agency (?) map seems to be the usual deciding criterion. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
