Holiday excursions abroad

Just returned from Gran Canaria. We were only there for 7 days so only did 2 excursions. Normally we find it cheaper to book direct, usual local transport etc or even specialist trip bookers in the resorts commerical centre. However this year it was cheaper to go with the tour company (Mytravel).
i.e. Aqualand was 27 euros per adult and 17 euros per child which included transport from hotel. To go with an indepentent trip booker was 28.5 euros/19.50 euros. If we took the local bus to the park it would have been 10 euros each (two busses) and 23 euros/16.5 euros park entry, though I did pick up a 3 euro discount slip at the airport.
Our second trip was the Spirit of the Sea. A two hour boat trip around the island looking for Dolphins (which we found). The price we paid the rep was the same price if we booked direct at the port with the boat company.
PS the waterpark, Aqualand is overpriced, over rated and has too few rides and too long queues:rolleyes: . The boat trip was good value though and we were actually out at sea for over 2.5 hours.
