Hi
since i installed myphoneexplorer and the drivers for my new phone, services.exe takes up 99% of the cpu usage in task manager.
i have uninstalled both, but the problem wont go away. i have the 6 month kaspersky trial installed as my security software and XP media center 2005 (sp2) as the OS.
i have tried safe mode ( to try and get system restore to work, but that takes ages to fire up), but it is still the same except that kaspersky seems to fire up ok and the machine is still as slow as it is in the normal windows. it took about 10 mins to boot up and i left it for around 3-4hrs and services.exe was still taking 99% of the cpu.
thanks in advance!

Do a search for services.exe and then take a look here;

ive done a search but this doesnt look like it is the trojan.
thanks anyway john!

did you run the prog that john suggested above?0

Start - Run - type eventvwr.msc - OK. Look for errors in System and Application logs.
Download Process Explorer and verify that the services.exe is actually C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe and not some other file path.0
