can anyone suggest an alternative to PayPal.

Is there any other Organization providing the type of service Paypal is providing? They seem to be charging an Arm & a leg for every thing. There is a desperate need for genuine competition. May be Martin can shed some light on this, or we can go in Partnership.

    What service exactly?
Some, e.g. ebay payments, Papal monopolised.
For other services there are plenty of e-wallets around, but don't expect to get them much cheaper.

    Skrill
    Neteller
    UKash
  • Hi! - It's a very good question. I've been researching the market for several years as I have a business abroad that requires payments in GBP - which are then transferred to EUR and then the funds withdrawn to a EUR account. With PayPal, this process takes several days now (as they have changed their system again) and the total fees are somewhere near 9 percent of the initial transaction.

I have used PayPal for 8 years in this way and have basically had enough. I'm in contact with a great company of which seem to have a very good solution for UK / European markets, so if that's any good for you then let me know and I will give you the details. Rgds.

No it isn't. It's far too broad a question.

We need the OP to come back to the thread and clarify which of the many services Paypal offer he is seeking to find alternatives for. And how much he would regard as reasonable for the charges.

Also I'm not sure you should be promoting an unnamed company to the OP - why not put the details on here for all to see?

Jonni has mentioned his company name in other threads he has spammed this morning.
  • I am a private individual, I do feel that Paypal need to have some competition. If people don't know what service they provide then worrying about it won't help.

Sebastian, you haven't said which aspects of paypal you think need competition. Some aspects, such as e-wallets, have competition already. Some, like paying for things online, also have competition already. But there are limitations to that competition.

If you let people know what you think you need an alternative provider to provide, and in what context, people here could answer your question about whether there is an alternative provider.

No-one here has said they don't know what service paypal provide - all the answers have been trying to be helpful. I'm sorry if you think otherwise.
  • This is just somebody making out there is a problem with Paypal and trying to get customers for his or her alternative payment system, it appears.

Zanderman The service Paypal provide is pretty good but charges are not in the right proportion. Making a Payment to someone putting money into your account almost goods not received escalation etc etc. every thing costing. Some of the issues can be caused by the CS communications who do not inform you of the facts and you end up taking the next step which again costs..

Having said all that I still feel Paypal is a reliable institute but some people within it are tarnishing its name. Hence opportunity for a competitor.

whilst I don't quite understand what you wrote, "every thing costing" is really no surprise, is it? What do you expect to get for free, and who do you expect to pay for the things you expect to get for free?

Do any of the other available electronic wallets meet your expectations? If not, what exactly is it you are looking for? What is missing?
