Tsb enhance rate drop

Just got a letter saying rate is dropping to 1.5%.
This, plus the £5 charge for Santander 123 account is really making me despair.

Are you sure you only just got that letter? TSB Enhance dropped to 1.5% in November 2014, and it's going to halve to 0.75% from November https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5313994

I've not been keeping my eye on the ball.

So what on earth are people doing about this? There isn't really an alternative is there? They want you to pile your money into assets and not leave it lying in bank accounts.

Still.... I need options as I've got a lot of cash getting no interest right now.
