  • Hi
Did you say the Or will be informing your landlord as I will be bankrupt soon and have a private Landlord does anyone know if the OR always informs the landlord.
  • It seems to depend on who you get as your case worker as to if your landlord is contacted by the office of the OR.
In my case my landlord was never contacted but I have read other cases where it has happened for sure.

You have to give your landlords name and address when you fill in the bankruptcy forms. They obviously contact them just to make sure you haven't stated that you pay £1200pm but really only pay £800 and pocket the rest each month! My private landlord was fine.

Like standalone said.....they prob don't contact everyone in the forms but just do it randomly.

I told my private landlord at the time, he wasn't interested or bothered in the slightest as I'd been a good tennant. I've moved on since through an agency and had to have a guarantor as I obviously failed a credit check. It was all fine though, don't worry you'll be ok!

I had to send my tenancy agreement in to the OR but they said there was no reason to contact the landlord as none of my debts were connected with the property - this was something that had bothered me a lot.

It seems as if it's a very individual thing.

My landlord was contacted for HIM to send the tenancy agreement. They probably ask them if you have defaulted on rent etc too.
