I filled in an IB50 3 months ago (this is the second one i have filled in i was called for a medical last year )and i have heard nothing so i rang DWP and they said my IB50 has been sent to medical services.
Why would it have been sent to medical services does this mean i will definatly be having a medical again ?

Medical Services can let the DWP know if they think you should be exempt from the PCA or alternatively it might be so they can arrange a medical. Ring MS to find outI'll get you, my pretty, and your little dog too!0

Thanks for the reply
So does everyones IB50 go to medical services or is it just the people who may be exempt or those being called for a medical ?0 -
ATOS medical services are contracted to provide DWP with medical examinations and opinions for all relevant benefits- IB/IBY/SDA/DLA/AA.
For IB/IBY, IB 50's are sent to ATOS who will provide either-
1)An opinion based upon the IB50 and a recent report from your GP, or
2)Arrange an examination if they cannot provide an opinion as at 1).
After either 1) or 2), the papers are returned to your JCP Benefit Centre for the claim to be looked at by a Decision Maker (DM). The DM will decide from all the available evidence if you do/do not continue to satisfy the medical test known as PCA. If you do, the claim continues until the next time the medical test is applied. If you don't - the claim is disallowed.
Some customers are automatically exempt due to their illness, or if they get DLA High Care. Some are treated as exempt after having being examined.
More info about PCA and the process can be found here-
