Phoenix Life Insurance - death payment

Hello,
I need some help please ,my mother died a couple of years ago, I had POA and kept her bank account open as now and again and odd payment was made to it, about May time £100 was credited to the account, when I checked with the bank they said it had come from Phoenix Life, I phoned them up and they told me mum did have an account with them, I knew she did but wasn't sure how much was there, the solicitor was supposed to sort this out after she died but clearly they didn't however they send me a claim form which I completed and sent back, I phoned them this morning to see what was happening as it had been a couple of weeks and they said the file had been sent to Lloyds and they had no info on the file as to how much it was worth, my understanding is this wouldn't go to Lloyds if there wasn't any cash and also they said on death the policy would have paid out on what the initial investment was, I know we had about £20K in there at one point, with the £100 return on the investment is there any guide as to how much the policy might be worth?

Phoenix and Lloyds have no connection to each other. So, Phoenix would not send Lloyds anything. It would be a data protection breach if they did. The only thing they would send Lloyds is a payment via BACs/CHAPs and that would only be the case if you supplied those bank details on the claims form.is there any guide as to how much the policy might be worth?
Nobody can guess that. However, Phoenix can tell the executor of the estate.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. Thanks Dunstonh, maybe that's what they meant by sending it to Lloyds, I did give them my bank details, would that be correct here.
It must have some value then?0
