That's where a bit of flexibility comes in. During winter, since I don't work, I can choose any time I like to go out. Working folk would have to use lunchtimes, I guess.

But what I do is this:

I keep an eye on the windows. If it's bright outside I'll pop to the shop for the milk, or some non urgent stuff I need to top up. Or I'll go for a short walk.

This means that by far the greater majority of my experience of winter isn't miserable - it's brigfht and sunny. It's surprising just how many winter days actually have a brighter moment, and you never really know if you don't look for it.

I know this is more difficult to do if you're working - but at least try lunchtimes, and if it is at all possible to have a flexi-lunch - then pick a sunny one :)

i suffer from sad but more on a daily basis than seasonal and as the weather has been bad this summer its really frustrating as i look forward to the bright weather to recharge my energy levels.

i wonder whether many people who suffer from sad have travelled abroad a lot because when we come back from being abroad i always feel more enclosed by the low clouds in this country and the feeling of an invisible pressure above me but when i am abroad its so much better or if we get a clear day here its better.

do many people find their energy levels are greatly affected and also when the weather is wet like they have achy limbs as well.

I have ME and am really struggling at the moment with the cold, dull, damp weather we're having. I'm praying for this bad spell to break before the summers over and I'm back to the confinement of winter!

I've used a sadlight with some benefit on winter mornings but mine's a bit awkwardly large. Can also generally recommend quality/price ratio of Tchibo goods. I don't think anyone's mentioned yet - 10% cashback for Tchibo purchases via Quidco.

You are taking medication for the fibromyalgia, I assume?
