UKPC Stalling?

I can't remember how long it is, but the only have a certain length of time to either accept your appeal or reject it and supply a POPLA code. I wouldn't do anything until you either receive the rejection letter and POPLA code or the time expires.
If you get the rejection letter and POPLA code, then you can then use it and win there, if they don't then you win by default and then complain to BPA, DVLA etc.0 -
I agree with Redx. If you have further evidence that is pertinent to your shopping, then there may be a chance that they will cancel if you can prove a big spend.
If you do nothing, you will get a POPLA code and then an unknown set of adjudication standards from the new POPLA.
Should it then get to gourt, poor old PPC can state truthfully "We delayed our adjudication asking for some further info and they ignored us, yer onor".
Of course they are dishonourable money grabbers and will probably reject your additional points, but if there is a hidden minimum spend, you may have exceeded it.0 -
Personally, I would not waste my time with UKPC, I very much doubt if they will be trading this time next year. iYou never know how far you can go until you go too far.0

Further to all the above, my illegal fine has now been dropped by UKPC . . . words to the effect that they'll take no further action. So a big thanks to all for your invaluable advice, support and reassurance. With the £100 you have all saved me I shall award myself a few whiskies and drink to your health. Pity you can't all be with me!
Any worried Newbies reading this, please do exactly as you are advised on these forums. It really does work. Excellent.
Cheers!0 -
Good news, op - and thankyou for update.
This is as vital to the Forum as appeal news, but it's surprising that so few people who have been helped come back to let forumites know.
I'd warrant UKPC's criminal fraudulent activity, as you're surely aware [alteration of timestamps on multiple sites, by multiple employees] will have been the main driver responsible for this 'attitude change.'
Enjoy this with your whisky[a little brown bird for me, please] AND TELL ALL YOUR FRIENDS, FAMILY, COLLEAGUES.

Well done PJOC - did they provide any reason (or do you deduce one) as to why the PCN was dropped?
This is quite important as it helps us build a current picture of how UKPC are operating in the wake of their admitted fraudulent behaviour. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

A wee grouse on its way!
I didn't have the letter to hand yesterday when I wrote about the result. Someone filed it away and I hadn't a clue where.
I now have it to hand and here's the transcript of the letter:
Thank you for your recent correspondence in relation to the above Parking Charge. We understand your frustration and appreciate the inconvenience this has caused you. [I don't remember expressing or implying frustration or inconvenience] It is not our intention to cause undue worry and frustration when enforcing our clients parking regulations.
We have investigated the appeal based on the information submitted by yourself [apart from the initial on-line registration of appeal as keeper of the vehicle, inserting/cut 'n pasting your template, and requesting a POPLA code, no other information or evidence was submitted by me] and can confirm in this instance that the Parking Charge has been cancelled.
We strive to deliver high quality service that enhances the existing quality standards insisted upon by our client and ensure our Wardens are stringently trained to meet these expected standards.
On behalf of ourselves and our client we apologise for any inconvenience.
Yours faithlessly,
Appeals Department
UK Parking Control Limited intelligence.
Cheers again . . . and ooh, is that the time . . . time for another wee dram !0 -
No, sorry that was me. I couldn't resist inserting a little extra word (or two) to rub it in a bit. Schadenfreude is a lovely word.0
