I went to currys to buy a replacement charging plug. Unfortunately they were out of stock so I went to a legitimate independant down the road and they produced the cchargers in clear cellophane bags. I told them apple do not supply chargers like this and only supply them in their trademark white boxes. The retailer assured me they're real but at £15 (just like apple/currys prices) I didn't want to take chancesso iI bailed.
Am Iright to assume tthat Apple never supply chargers without their proper packaging or is there a system builders / corporation version that comes in light plastic wrappers

No, they don't supply OEM chargers without retail packaging.
£15 for a charger is extortionate, though. You can get a high quality charger that does the same job for half that.poppy100 -

I was pretty damn sure they were fake, but the sales clerk was so insistent that they were genuine.
I have 10 iPads that I use for presentations to clients. I have bought 3rd party chargers before unfortunately they dont perform as well as the Apple chargers.
There are a few "ebay genuine" chargersd I've bought which came in cellophane bags, the exterior was done quite well but something wasn't quite right. It didn't weigh the same as the Apple chargers I had and 3pin part did not grip the transformer part of the plug correct. Like it didn't have the same firm & snug fit as the genuine. Also once connected the gap between the two components wasn't quite right.
I dont trust fakes, they cheap out and dont use as much copper as genuines cos copper is expensive and they use more steel whichoverheats.
Last thing you want is for a iPad or plug to go pop.0 -
