New Sky remote control

I have bought a new remote for my Sky + from tesco remote says it is rev 10



Remote will operate Technika tv using code 1695 but wont operate sky box - how do I correct this?

Press the Sky button near the top centre. It should then work.

You probably pressed the TV button and it is still in TV mode.

Pressed the Sky button and nothing happens

As far as I know there are two different Sky remotes, one for regular boxes and one for Sky+ boxes. They are not interchangeable.

Which box and which remote do you have?

You say Sky+ in the OP. Is the new remote for Sky+ boxes?

The new remote is slightly different in appearance to my previous one but the only one tesco had (presumably the newer design) the number of this new one says rev 10 previous says Rev 9 but it says sky + remote

Which remote did you buy and which remote did you originally have? If you have a Sky+ box and have bought a remote for a Sky+HD box then it probably won't work.

It was the only one they sold so it should work for all

unfortunately not....

have you correctly paired the remote with the sky box? If not, it won't work...

That's a really bad strategy for buying technology, as you are learning!
I'm also learning that not all Sky remotes work with all Sky boxes.

Just because it is the only remote Tesco were selling doesn't mean it will work with every Sky box ever made. Tesco aren't going to load up on stock for older Sky+ boxes given that Sky no longer supply these boxes to new customers and so they're gradually being removed from the market entirely.

If other suggestions aren't working, and you use the link I provided to tell us which remote you bought and which one you originally had we might be able to confirm whether it is suitable or not. Unfortunately, at the moment, we're only guessing because there's many different boxes carrying the Sky+ name and several different remotes.
