Sorry if this isn't the correct place to ask but I'm so not Techie that I don't even know where best to ask the question.


I bought a Samsung Tab S, WiFi version, and thought I needed a Sim card for it. Apparently, it wouldn't take a Sim card but I was sold a Vodafone R216 gizmo with a Sim card which I understand would work a bit like a hub for the tablet & my phone.


Does anyone know please if this will work abroad? And/or what I might need abroad to make it work?


If the Gizmo doesn't work abroad then there's no point taking the tablet.

If you're using a Vodafone SIM, then it should work abroad... but it will be INSANELY expensive. I don't know if the "R216 gizmo" is locked to Vodafone, but you might be able to unlock it if so. And then use a local SIM card.

Where is "abroad"?

R216 or R216-Z?

Have you actually checked to see if it is locked to Vodafone?

It may not be. Get a Data SIM like this one if you don't already have one and pop it into the MiFi.
Alternatively, you can ask Vodafone if it is locked or not.

If not locked, you can use a local SIM if necessary.
