Peugeot 308 SW Headlights

Hi..

I'm not too hot mechanically (understatement of the year). Was hoping someone might be able to advise me please.

I've a 2009 Peugeot 308 SW. When I turn the sidelights on, I get sidelights. When I turn to headlights all of a sudden it seems as though my headlights are on, but only the bulb in the middle is lit? The "headlight" itself isn't on and as such I had to drive home last night in the dark like this, but with the assistance of my front fog lights on too.

Any ideas why? Is it a setting that's been amended somehow on my computer controls? Or bulbs gone? Just find it odd it's happening to both at precisely the same time

Thanks in advance

Charlie

Sounds like the bulb has failed.
H7 should do it, from your local forecourt or motor factor (unless your car has HID xenon lighting).

how does it seem to be on when it's not on, and what is in the middle. could also be switch/wiring etc.

There was a software upgrade a few years ago to fix a lighting switch issue, if it hasn't been serviced by a main dealer, you may need it.

    What do you mean?
I'd suspect the H7 dipped beam bulb is in the middle.

in the middle is a vague term, so I was asking charliedog for clarification

  • Sorry for the late reply - thanks for the updates

Turns out that BOTH my headlight bulbs had gone - on the same day. Most odd I thought? However, went to my local garage, watched the lad swap my headlight bulbs and 2 mins later all is well!

Thought it was highly unlikely (if not impossible) that both would go together; so secretly suspected a fuse issue; but nope, both bulbs blew in tandem
