I want to install Kodi for streaming on my amazon fire stick however I have no HDMI port on my dell xps 12 ultrabook, only standard USB and a mini display port.
How can I set up/configure my fire stick without? Are there adapters and will these be compatible with my dell ultrabook xps 12 for file transfer and fire stick setup?

You don't plug it into the Laptop.
You plug it into a TV then use your network to load Kodi

You would plug the fire stick into your TV and get it set-up on your network.
From there, you can connect to the Fire Stick from your laptop over WiFi. Then you can sideload apps such as Kodi.
Have a read here - http://sideloadfiretv.com/0 -
But how can you browse the files, installer files etc on your tv as there is no hard drive etc?0

Doesn't need a hard drive. The Amazon Fire Stick has plenty of internal storage.
It's a steep learning curve to sideload apps on to it keep researching keep asking questions. You'll get it eventually.
The TV doesn't connect to wifi the Fire Stick does and you access it via IP address from your laptop on the same network.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)

Your fire does not store the movies and TV, you should store them on separate storage device like a shared folder on a PC, or a network attached storage device.
The fire is primarily a device to steam media from the net or another device.Laters

Full instructions on how to use the product and what it does are available on Amazon:

Both are PDF downloads. They are a lengthy read, but I think you might need it...Total Debt Left: £14,843 / £23,954
