Bank closure & small local businesses

I'd say there's been huge strides away from bank branches, hence the closure of so many. The main use for them now is sales centres.

More and more businesses are taking electronic payments so no cash changes hands.
I have a lot of cheques and I don't think I've visited a bank to pay one in for well over 15 years. It's very easy to post and with many accounts, it's also free.
