Do I need a 16" or 18" petrol honda mower?

Options
Guys,

we are thinking of getting this mower http://www.cheapmowers.com/acatalog/info_HPIZY.html

But then noticed it states it is suitable for gardens up to half a tennis court in size....

We have seen this next bigger, more expensive one, and are considering it instead - is it worth the extra money, and will we need it??

Our garden is approximately 100ft long, by 25-30 ft wide.

Here is the bigger one:

We can get the bigger one for £25 more than the smaller one.

We've seen an Alpina on that same site, which has a Honda engine, but has a mulching facility - is that a good useful feature to have??

All replies greatly received.

Many thanks

Dan

We have a huge garden, but still use a walk mower rather than ride on. My OH hates our mower but I love it. It is a Husqvana mower which is a 3 in 1??? Basically it is a mower which mows with grassbox or mulches. I always use the mulch but he uses the box.

The downsides of mulching are - you need to cut the grass more often and your cannot mulch when it is wet (big downside this summer).

The upside is, that you just keep walking, no emptying boxes, no looking for an empty compost bin.

I think our grass is very green, the mulcher re-chops the grass inside itself and distributes it as small clippings which you don't see on the lawn. It just vanishes. I think that mulching feeds the grass.

The best advice I can give is to buy the biggest blade you can and go for a box if you don't mind emptying the grass or a mulcher if you don't mind mowing more often.

Edit - and certainly get self-propelled if you don't want to feel like you've done 10 rounds with Mike Tyson. Your first link says PUSH but looks like SP (two handles) your second is a PUSH for sure. Get them to clarify. As for SP over PUSH versus SIZE, SP wins everytime!
