Incorrect Address

My wife has the online statement activated for Barclays bank current account. When we changed houses we updated our address in the bank over the phone. But she failed to check the bank statements for a really long period ( as she was just a homemaker then), but now when we check the address - except for the name , house number and postcode nothing seem correct !
The correct address is this :
*removed for privacy*
Barclays Bank updated it like this :
1 Jamesboroborough House
Cassiles Road
E14 3xx
South Key
Now, with that kind of address is this bank statement a valid proof of address for that period ? Barclays says they cannot change the address for pervious dates.
What do I do to get this rectified ? Any escalations ? Any ideas please ?!

No it is not but what can they do?
They are not time lords and cannot physically change the address on statements already issued (whether paperless or not).
Most large companies will use a post office database meaning most people only need to tell their bank the house name/number and post code and the correct address pops up.
Get the proper address on now and move on.0 -

Well, she did not have an earning then and so she had no reason to check also.
Well, its a mistake made and looks like nothing much can be done !
Any way thanks0 -

I can't remember the last time I looked at a bank statement. I log in online almost every day, so I know the balance and check every transaction going through, but I never have the need to look at any PDF or paper statement generated, so I wouldn't know what name/address they're putting on them...0 -

Well this thread shows the consequences does it not?0 -
So, I spoke to Barclays and they issued me a detailed letter that the address not being spelt correctly was a manual error from their side and that the statements from so and so dates though cannot be corrected, this letter should be of help.
And so, the letter with the Bank statement is now a valid proof of address.0 -

Why is it so important to you?
You will have been on the electoral roll at your new address for xx months, utility bills would have been sent to your address for xx months, your driving licences will have been updated since you moved - why would you need extra confirmation?0 -
I am in the process of applying for ILR and one of the requirements is that I am supposed to provide address proof individually or joint ( as part of cohabitation requirement) that we have been residing in the same address for the past 2 years, and it has to be from different sources ( i think 3 - 4 different sources). And so this helps.
Moreover , the address per se wasn't wrong, They just had to spell it correctly.0
