Bank Charges from 2001

Luckily my hubby still has every bank statement from when he had his morgage over 30 years ago. I remembered the bank account changing to a ''pay a fee monthly'' not long after we married in 2001 but cant remember why.. I know we didnt use any of the extras that were included.. we paid a fee from Aug 2001 until Jan 2006 and fees went from £5 to £7.50 to £9 to £10 in that time..It adds up to quite a sum...
so I am going to put in a claim for that..
he also had a credit card-and for some reason has kept no statements at all from that so dont know if there was any ppi on that..it was not used at all from 2001, he just paid it off...is it worth asking if there was any PPi on there or is it going back too long?
The morgage was taken out in 1972 and stayed with the same company so Im thinking it was too long ago to have had a PPI added? Any thoughts please?

You are looking to compain about packaged bank account charges, not PPI with that one.

No PPI existed on mortgages from 1972.

If he doesn't have the account number of the CC, and it's closed, he should send a SAR and £10 to see if there are records left. This doesn't mean there will be any or that he paid PPI, and if it did exist, whether he'd be successful with a complaint, so it's up to him whether he wants to spend £10
