So, I chose the air 2 and now to protect it.. Any thoughts on the best case for fit, protection and price?

Flight cases are the way forward here - excellent protection!

And you will have a little room to fit the next generation models when you inevitably upgrade.

I bought this one and it's great. It fits well and has a rubbery feel to the back part which makes it easier to hold:-

Banter was in full swing last night. Bravo.
And, FYI, I had my 2nd hand iPad 2 for 2.5 years which initially cost me £40 (having sold an old laptop to contribute) so I'm not the frivolous muppet that you're implying.0 -
The official cases are good but obviously expensive.
What do you want? A keyboard? A case which includes a screen cover or just protects the back? What will your verse be?

Never tried to imply anything of the sort, but as you said just banter, I still have my 4 year old iPad 2 with a very dirty,dog-eared and worn tecknet case which cost 9.99 from Amazon, the iPad2 is more or less pristine. Of course cupertino is not yet allowing me to d/l ios9 so their servers don't get overloaded.Banter was in full swing last night. Bravo.

Thanks, will see if I can get a similar case for the air 2.
I wouldn't rush to get it, 8.4 slowed mine down majorly. Either that or it was just a tired old device.0
