Hello is there a free or cheap download ( don't have cd drive) for Microsoft office or an alternative as my son has just started secondary school and some of his homework has to be typed up and printed off.
I dont wish to spend a lot of money on Microsoft office if there's another way of doing it.
Thank you

You might want to consider Open Office? http://www.openoffice.us.com/openoffice/free-open-office-download-yahoo.php?pk=1192027&source=msn&c=Srch_UK_OpenOffice_us_Suite_EM"A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Assuming you are on a Windows computer, he could just use Wordpad (which is already there), you could download LibreOffice for free if you need something more capable, or use the online Google Docs which is also free. Google docs also has the added bonus that your files are saved to the cloud and can be accessed from anywhere.0

Check if the school is in the Microsoft Office Education Program in which case you can get office for free via the school.
Check here also:

Check whether his school is signed up for any of the Microsoft Educational programs, that may allow him access to Office free or cheaply.
