hi there,
I wonder if anyone could offer any advice.
I have an unsatisfied default on my credit file from 5 years and 9 months ago - however it's status shows updated about a year ago.
Does anyone know if this update means it will stay on there for another 5 years or whether it will drop off in 3 months time?
I had considered contacting the company to offer a settlement figure but as I have never contacted them before, am I opening myself to more hassle and it staying on my credit file longer?
Any advice would be gratefully received.
Cheers

The default and account will completely drop off your credit file 6 years from the original default date, no matter what.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
