I understand the Nationwide interview is scheduled for 3 hours too, was speaking to the rep about it earlier today!

Shame they didn't use the same method as the underwriting, get a different person to come in and ask each different question!!!

That would at least explain the timescales!

  • I've been through this process with Santander, and it's been relatively pain-free. The phone interview took around 60 minutes in total (basically a sales pitch for mortgages and other products), and if the amount you're looking for is within affordability, your application will be formally pricessed, mailed out to you for an address check, and then passed to underwriting.

All in all, it took about two weeks from the interview to the actual offer. Not the quickest I assume, but worked for my timeline. Hope all goes well with your application.

Broker is our second choice should this not work out, telephone interview is tomorrow at 09:30, we have already sent off our wage slips and filled in initial forms.

I am assuming tomorrows interview will be my formal application, from that i'm hoping we will receive a decision.

Not a chance. At the very least a valuation needs to take place before you get a decision.
  • Agent is our second option should this not perform out, phone meeting, we have already sent off our salary falls and loaded in preliminary types.
