The dangers of an online sales campaign! Fortunately I get the prime emails and not Mrs SJ!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0

Fortunately it was all stuff that we've been meaning to buy at some point. I'd been eyeing sandals at Cl@rks that were £60 and these ones are normally £80 but snagged for £33.
Also found other fancier ones for £20 (similar style at Cl@rks also £60), will see if I feel I need those based on how these turn out. (Suppose need is the wrong word, though right now I have one pair of shoes and two pairs of boots, so nothing to wear with a dress.)
Could have gotten ~£30 of pantry credit but didn't think of it until we'd already bought most things. Not that pantry has all that much of use to us anyway as it's more expensive than normal grocery shopping, though we have enjoyed apple cinnamon pancakes.
Ordered 3 windowsills off bay of e that should arrive today. Hoping that'll sort out the upstairs bathroom, kitchen, and top of the pipeworks in downstairs toilet. One more thing to check off the house to-do list!0 -
TCB money has come through, adding £1.31 to the offset account and bringing mortgage balance down to £140,172.33.0

Woo, MB money has arrived in the bank account...total for June/July...drumroll please....£377.33! :j
That brings the offset total to £1,128.45 and the mortgage balance to £139,795.00. (Somehow a nice round number.)
Off to colour in another brick on the house.0 -
Great stats. For what it's worth my 3 week star on MB totals £153 profit with £10 free bet to take!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0

More spreadsheet analysis and I'm coming to terms with the idea of paying the ERC if we sell our house pre-2020. Assuming we only rent out the house for 12 months (whenever that might happen), we'd pay more than the ERC in interest to keep the loan through 2020, even factoring in money from rent. So we may as well just sell and cash out sooner rather than later and paying more money overall.
That said, we'll have to see how things shake out as far as when we might move, what house prices/interest rates are doing, whether/how long we can keep our current jobs from abroad (and if our salaries will change), etc. I'm going on the assumption that we'd move by next summer, but it may make more sense to move over the winter if things look to be picking up steam on the EU front. At least if we move in the winter we'll get the worst of the weather over and done with and can be pleasantly surprised as it shifts to warmer and (dare I say) brighter days.0 -
Prime Day stuff has mostly arrived.hiddenshadow wrote: »- packing cubes for clothes organisation on holiday should be useful, will put to the test when we go to Ireland in a couple of months
- boot organiser/shopping bag for the car, should hold all our weekly shopping so we don't have to faff about with remembering bags not yet arrived
- 2 sets of headphones, I'll try them both and return one (ideally the more expensive one) tried both, picked one to return, am@zon wants £4 postage to return either so DH is going to try the (fancier) pair that I don't want as his have just broken
- sleeveless top for me, should be good in the heat nice and lightweight, fits, will wear to work on Monday
- 24 boxes of kleenex (not budgeted, but DH is going through them like nobody's business with hay fever)
- 2 knitting bags, will need to see if I like them quite a bit bigger than I expected so was going to return one as I usually only have one big project on the go, am@zon wanted £4 to return so will keep both and use the other to stash extra yarn
- 64gb microSD card for my phone to replace the one that's floating around the house somewhere
- dog bed for the greyhound both dogs and the stupid cat have tried it, looks good
- sandals for me bit too tight, but free to return :T
Pleased overall. Will have to see what the car organiser is like when it arrives, but can't imagine not finding it useful.
Not much else to report - put the first coat of paint on in the downstairs toilet, will do the second coat in a few hours. Then we have to lay flooring and put up our fancy tile as a backsplash and we're good to go for the plumber. Otherwise quiet other than going to a concert tomorrow.Really looking forward to it, but Monday morning will be rough as we're likely to get home/to bed about midnight!

That was one good thing about being away this week...it was easy to ignore the Pr!me day! Sounds like you got a good haul though.
Enjoy the concert0 -
Lots of small stuff today.
Called up +net to see what they could offer us to keep us as a customer. Turns out, not much.Signed up (via MSE) with T@lkt@lk for a 12 month contract that's just the cost of line rental (plus P&P for a router we don't want but can't refuse). Monthly bill should drop from £31.98 to £16.50. :j Can transfer the account to tenants if/when we rent out the house within the 12-month time period, so that's handy.
Discovered we ordered a toilet, vanity, and sink for the downstairs toilet but no tap.Have picked out what we want online, just need to go purchase it at the weekend.
Arranged to switch our H@lifax credit card to the Clarity one to use abroad. Only got it to stooze, so may as well get one that actually serves a purpose for us. Bit of a faff to do it, but eventually succeeded in an online application with instant approval for £5,500 credit limit (on top of our £4,500 on the stoozed card). Will wait for new card to arrive and then phone up to cancel the old one.
Traded in clubcard points for restaurant credit to go out pre-concert last night - didn't realise the restaurant closed early so didn't have time for dessert, leaving us with spare credit to use next time.
Concert was lovely but so tired today. Working from home tomorrow/Wed due to the heat, so at least it should be quiet!
Interest for the mortgage has been calculated for June-July: £279.570
