While Russia and China Back Assad, the west wants to remove him and IS, Turkey is bombing the Kurds (the only force who are actually making gains against IS) IS are laughing and taking advantage of the chaos of the situation.
I really do think this is the biggest threat the world has seen since Hitler, and the east/west squabbling is handing them victory on a plate. USA, Russia and China need to unite and destroy a common enemy, they can then go back to their petty squabbles after but this whole situation will only get worse.
Once IS dominate the middle east you can bet that Europe is next on their list. Yes we can have arguments about who created the situations in the Arab countries (the west) but we need to not get lost in these and act before its too late.

You do realise that Assad and IS are on opposite sides and removing Assad will almost certainly mean that IS will take over all of Syria?
Plus everytime we've gone into the middle east with our troops or bombs to 'help' we've always made matters worse.
Other than that.. keep up the international diplomacy. :T0 -

if you had bothered to read my post correctly you would see that I am not saying we should remove Assad, infact leaving him in place will stablise things.
The issue is the west are hell bent on removing him AND fighting IS, when they should deal with the latter.
and again if you'd read my post I agree that the middle east situation has been made worse by the west, but should we just ignore the situation now and await the caliphate to land on our doorstep?0 -

Wasn't it just 2 years ago that Cameron went to parliament wanting a mandate to bomb Assad's forces, can you imagine what the situation would be like now if we had.0 -
How exactly would you destroy IS? It is not an army or a single force that can be defeated militarily. It is a religious movement with many supporters. History has shown us time and time again that killing such people makes martyrs, and rather than reducing their numbers you will add 2 or 3 or 4 more new recruits to the cause.0

I'd send in the best possible mediator to resolve the situation face to face with IS...

If you agree that the west has just been making matters worse by all the invasions and bombings, then what do you suggest is the solution?0 -
