Desperately need advice-house buying deeds issue

    For something such as a house that has a mortgage on for it to be unregistered it must have been bought some time ago (60s or 70s as G_M says).

    I think registration was brought in at different times around the country. We bought a house in the mid 1980s and just had the paper deeds.

    What is your solicitor advising you to do? Shouldn't he be the one putting pressure on your seller's solicitor? It shouldn't come down to you pushing the seller - everything should be going through solicitors at this point.
