Ppi. Where to start? Advice please.

I'm looking to start claiming back ppi but have no idea where to start. I've read various threads but my heads spinning. :money:
I've had a couple of car loans with my bank, a loan from another bank, an endowment mortgage for which I'm sure I was sold separate ppi, catalogues and possibly others if I hunt through old documents.
My main question is do I need to fill in separate forms for each separate account and send them all to each individual company?

yes you do. You can put in multiple complaints about different PPI products on the same letter where the bank or firm responsible is the same. However, its one per firm.
n endowment mortgage for which I'm sure I was sold separate ppi,

So, in that case you would expect three monthly payments. One to the mortgage. One for the endowment and one for the MPPI.

  • So with regards to the mortgage do I write to the mortgage company or do I need to write to the other companies?

You write to the company that sold the PPI. If that was the lender, then you write to them. If it was a broker then you write to them (note that brokers have different regulation dates with most not being regulated prior to Jan 2005).

Most MPPI complaints fail. Its a stronger product that most credit card and loan PPI (where most complaints succeed). Plus, it covers a major debt and is considered more important. Indeed, today, MPPI is one of only two types of PPI still retailed. So, you typically need a stronger complaint reason with MPPI.
