Flying to LA from Heathrow late Sept?

I have browsed around the web but cannot decide if Virgin or BA would be better to fly with from Heathrow to LA economy. I am getting quotes of £366 return leaving 24th Sept and returning 11th Ocotber. I am flexible give or take a day. American Airlines and United are the other options. Air New Zealand seems a bit more expensive but has extra leg room. Anyone flow that route, any recommendations?

I usually fly BA but that's only because I'm part of their frequent flyer programme. Having said that, I have flown Virgin and I do think they give you better inflight service. Often there is very little in the pricing. I must say that although am a frequent flyer with BA I've had a lot of hassles with them over the past 12 months due to strikes, delays and so on. I even swapped to Virgin last minute in Jan because I couldn't risk not getting over to the US on business.

Air NZ had their aircraft re-fitted recently.

You could cross the Atlantic with Air India and then just take the train from New York.

Of course, all this begs the question, why bother going to LA? If it is for a business meeting you can do it by video-conference; if it is for pleasure you can see Hollywood films and large-scale traffic jams in your home town; and if it is for Latin-style food then go to Spain.

Voyager2002, you don't half talk some crap sometimes. Who are you to tell the OP whether or not they should be going to LA? Only the other week you advised someone that going to New York for a weekend was a disaster-waiting-to-happen and that by crossing the Atlantic twice in four days, all they would remember from their trip would be what aircraft cabins and airport terminals look like. You suggested a trip to Europe instead. Then a few days later, someone posted asking for money-saving shopping tips for Rome and you recommended that if they wanted to shop cheaply, they should go to New York!

My favourite has to be when you warned someone travelling to Berlin that the predominant language there is Russian.

If you don't have a constructive suggestion to a legitimate question, try to refrain from talking absolute garbage.
