Mortgage Declined with Kensington - Strange reason

Hi, My mortgage today was declined by Kensington saying "We are unable to progress with this application because we saw different information held by other lender against me?"????

My broker has recommended to order Hunter report, what is this?

Any ideas?
Many Thanks!

I assume you have looked at your equifax credit report(s)?

  • Yes I have, there is no issue with that report. The reason for decline with kensington seems another broker has provided different information.
  • Any ideas, whats the best approach in this situation? I am going to order a copy of N Hunter.

Anything else that I can do?
  • Did the previous broker provide you a copy of the application to check ?

  • No, I wasn't provided a copy.
  • Ask for one (formal complaint if they don't provide it) - then compare it with current one.

  • Thanks for the replies! Shall I also order a copy (SAR) of National Hunter?
  • It seems like a mistake (or several) by the mortgage broker. Last year when I was applying for a mortgage I got the initial AIP from L&C who took all my details over the phone. When they sent me a copy a couple of days later I found quite a few bits of information were wrong including the spelling of my name. Needless to say I never applied for a mortgage with them and went with a the high street broker. I would check the information provided by your mortgage broker to start with.

  • Just wanted to update this thread. I have just received my N Hunter report, and everything is marked as "CLEAR" and there is no inconsistency at all!!! I am shocked why was I declined in the first place for inconsistency?? My broker is not answering the phone.
