Paying for a top-up degree

Options
Hi all. I have completed a 4 year HND in sport and am in my second year of a foundation degree in complementary therapies. The two qualifications go well together with the rehabilitation, psycology etc, but I want to finish it all of by doing my top up degree. The problem is and without being ungrateful, I cannot fund the year as my funding will have run out. I really need to get this degree and I have future plans in setting up my own practice etc. Does anyone out there have any ideas or suggestions as to how I can get some help to put myself through? Is there anywhere I can apply to? Thanks.

Couple of questions - where are you based and how old are you?

Have you spoke to the college about funding - I'm sure Plymouth offer grants and with a quick scan at the website this is where your degree would come from.

  • Yes, we are under the Plymouth University banner, so probably if I contact them then they may be able to help me. My friend was in the same situation and he got some kind of bursary. Thanks for your help.

Hi Kaz, Plymouth should fund the final year. Speak to the careers advisor or the student services at Cornwall College, they are usually pretty helpful

  • Thanks Gemmzie. Will do. They have always been pretty good in the past with other things. Will pop in and ask. Got to do this degree as I have got this far.:j
