Sunday Times Where Was I? competition

The prize:

The winner and a guest will spend four nights in Iceland on a fly-drive break. They’ll spend the first night in Reykjavik, at Hotel Klettur, then drive an hour north to stay in a chic self-contained villa at Hotel Glymur, which overlooks Hvalfjordur, on the west coast. From there, they can use Discover the World’s iDiscover digital travel guide to plan an itinerary — and, away from the capital, they will be able to enjoy the northern lights, should they appear.

Discover the World is a tailor-made travel specialist that has offered holidays and aurora experiences in Iceland and beyond for more than 30 years.

The prize includes return flights from a range of UK airports, car hire and B&B accommodation. It must be taken between October 1, 2015, and March 31, 2016, subject to availability and excluding public holidays and December 19-January 3. Extra conditions apply:

*The competition winner must give at least one month’s notice in advance of their desired dates of travel.

*The prize is strictly subject to availability of flights operating from the following UK airports – London Heathrow, London Gatwick, Luton, Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester, Glasgow and Edinburgh.

*The prize is subject to the availability of accommodation at Hotel Klettur in and Hotel Glymur. These may be substituted by Discover the World for a properties in the same approximate region.

*The prize holiday or any of the above listed components may not be sold, traded, transferred, refunded, commissioned or redeemed for cash value.

*Items not included in the prize which are the responsibility of the winner are: meals except breakfast; fuel; travel insurance; excursions; room service; laundry service; all beverages; any telephone calls; merchandise and souvenirs; incidental expenses; additional tips and gratuities; service charges; taxes and all other costs and expenses not otherwise mentioned herein.

*At least one member of the party must be aged at least 20 to drive in Iceland and have held a full English or International driving licence for at least one year.

*(Europcar will require that you present your full driving licence (photo card and DVLA check code) and a Visa or Mastercard CREDIT card (debit cards are not accepted). This is compulsory as a guarantee for your vehicle.

*The winner and guest must ensure they have valid passports, and visas, if required.
