  • I reckon I get about £110 pa cashback on my 123 current account,so it is still worthwhile for me. Will have to watch for further changes, though.
  • I knew it was coming, more to follow in six months time.

You never told us it would be coming! I am disappointed you kept it secret. What more should we expect in six months time? It would only be fair if you told us now.

. . . Do they think we're stupid or have I misunderstood something?
All banks think we're stupid and for the most part they're right.

Hopefully, most MSE-ers are the exception.

The new £1,000/£500 tax-free interest allowance will help to offset these increases from next April. I wonder if that has influenced Santander's decision.

So they are not closing it, but they are reducing what you get.

Right. You didn't know they would be increasing their monthly fee to £5, and you don't know anything at all about what they will do in 6 months time. Thanks for confirming.

I never claimed I did, I said I knew "it" was coming, something like "this", as my previous post showed.

Wives "know" you are cheating on them, in exactly the same way.

Banks are no good cheating, lying, no-good SOBs, just waiting for the opportunity to do the dirty. Just like MEN. :D

Disappointing news but I guess most MSErs had this coming... I'll still be able to cover this fee with my cashback but it will mean I get less cashback. Not worth changing for me but I suppose this increases the chances that I will move in future
