Looking back at your previous posts I really think it is time for you to get some help. Have you tried any medication, received any CBT?0

Tried medication and it made me feel suicidal which is something I had never felt before so vouched to stay away from antidepressants ever since. I am on the waiting list for CBT and self help therapy. I have also had private counselling which was OK but it was too expensive and I got myself into debt over it.0 -
Have a read of this - he is excellent. http://www.drmartinseif.com/. What about self help books - mindfulness by prof Mark Williams, also what about colouring. How many sessions of private cbt did you have?0

Thanks I will give that a read. I have also found the books by Dr Claire Weekes to be a god send. They are what got me through the worst of panic attacks and agoraphobia. It wasn't CBT I had privately, it was more just counselling and talking about how I felt. She never gave me any challenges or goals to work towards. She was more interested in finding a root for the anxiety instead of helping me come to terms with it and find a logical way out of it. I had about 10 sessions and they were £40 a session which is expensive when you have little income.patchwork_cat wrote: »Have a read of this - he is excellent. http://www.drmartinseif.com/. Are you sure about medication, the suicide feeling does pass and your dr can give you something short term to cope with the increased anxiety. Worth talking to your Dr about them adding something else in at the beginning. I can't say what as that would be medical advice. There are also loads of different medications, not just SSRI's.0

Yeah I've spoke to my doctor about meds. They offered me a course of diazepam to take with a different kind of antidepressant but I said no after trying 3 in the past. They said understood and that the option was always there if I needed it.0

Can I just say thank you for posting this? My friend has suffered from anxiety and OCD for many years but her fear of "allergies" has just surfaced recently, I was quite worried and wondered what it was all about. She has had some health worries recently and this has increased her anxiety noticeably but the food refusal was a new one to me.
I only noticed it recently when I offered her a sweet. She refused, saying that it "has nuts in it"...I know full well that she isn't allergic to nuts so, thinking that it must be something else (new diet, dodgy tooth fillings etc) I asked why she was avoiding nuts. She told me that she was worried that she may have developed an allergy to them and that she was avoiding nuts, just in case. I'm ashamed to say that I did laugh, and told her that if she had a nut allergy, then her morning granola would have set it off. She has also started avoiding soya (she used to use soya milk), and anything with seeds in it. Thanks to your post, I can now see what is going on.
I can't be of any real practical help to you but if you feel better after writing it all down, then have a look at the "Here we can all be heard" thread, over on the "Marriage and relationships" board. They're a very friendly and non-judgemental bunch."I may be many things but not being indiscreet isn't one of them"0 -
