Car insurance automatic renewal

  • Bank can't cancel as it's a debit card payment.

I can't imagine the insurer will take into consideration my circumstances to be honest, although I will of course tell them the truth and I have the death certificate to prove it, but i really don't think they will care.

If I go with another insurer I can save around £75 with the quidco cash back. I guess the worst case scenario is to accept the £25 admin fee (ridiculous!!!) plus the one day cover and go with the cheaper insurer from tuesday 15th.

Good news, a lovely gentleman at the insurance company was very understanding and has cancelled the renewal with no admin fee or charge for one day insurance.

It's too late to cancel the payment so the payment will be taken and then refunded as soon as they can. They tried to match the new quote I had found but couldn't

Phew very happy. I have now made arrangements with a new company for my insurance to start straight away.

    Thanks all for your help.
