PIP query

I note that you can apply for PIP up to the age of 64.
My OH has just been awarded this and he is 62, so does that mean the PIP will stop when he is 64 and will he then have to apply for Attendance Allowance and be assessed all over again?

PIP won't stop at 64. It's awarded for a fixed period though.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked
50p saver #40 £20 banked
Virtual sealed pot #178 £80.250 -
as above.
i fully expect the rules to be changed at some point though.
forcing every 65+ off DLA/PIP and onto AA will save a ;to of money, regardless of how it impacts on the claimant0 -
Thanks for the information, it just threw me that it said it could only be claimed until age 64.Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0

They are likely to request you fill in the PIP form.
And remember - SEND COPIES ONLY.
You do not need to send in details of your condition worsening - unless it has worsened to the point that it changes one or more descriptors.
That is - for example - if you've gone from 'can walk 200m' to 'can walk 1-20m'.
Or if you can now no longer do something you used to be able to do within twice the time of a nondisabled person, safely, to a reasonable standard.0 -
Thank you, if I fill in the forms will my money stop until reassessed and require another visit? Only ask as it took me over a year to get this, or will they continue to pay until decision is made? Many thanks for your assistance0

payments will continue whilst they reassess your claim.
they may well want to do another visit, and you should be aware that they can also reduce the award as well as raise it or leave it the same0
