  • Morning all. A lovely start here at sunrise, the sky was so brilliantly red on the horizon it looked like a fire. Blue sky and sun since.

I'm hoping DS is getting a good walk in from the caravan and seeing his problems more clearly. He's enough on worrying about his dad without the GF and her issues from the past draining him. I know he feels responsible for her two sons but they have their own dad who should give a bit more input if they need it.

I am so envious of you with your doggy stories and fostering stories. The last two dogs we had were border collies and we lost them 3 years apart. After the last one died, and we were left heartbroken once again, we decided against another as the DGDs were coming along taking up a lot of our time, plus we weren't getting any younger ourselves. At times I so wish we did have another but as things are now it isn't an option sadly. So I'll make do with reading your stories.

Some meatballs in tomato frito sauce for lunch, left over from yesterday tea. I have a pan of savoury mince on the hob for when DS gets back ravenous from his long walk later. I'll pop some dumplings in for the last 20 mins or so but I think Mr TA will have to pass on the dumplings.

Have a good day all (((HUGS)))) if needed and take care xx

DD has gone back to her house and her BIL is helping her with the garden this morning.

Youngest dd phoned yesterday to be talked through wi fi, reading meter, turning water on and turning the boiler on. At least she now has water and heating. Will phone her later and see how she is doing.

DD is coming home for a light lunch so will let her choose and other dd and sil have invited us for dinner tonight and he is cooking for us all.

Laundry is nearly finished and ready to go outside and at least one more load needs to be done. Might ask dd to help me with changing our SK bed as it is hard work.

Just had a leisurely shower and shampoo after yoghurt and fruit for breakfast and about to get dressed, hang laundry out etc.

    Redruby

Good luck with your dog and I hope she will settle in quickly.

    Hugs to all

    Good morning everyone (just)

It's a bit of a sad day for me as it would have been my dad's birthday today. He died about 8 years ago and although I'm not grieving badly, I miss him, especially on days like today. I did dream about him last night which made me smile as he was just as much a pain in the bum in my dream as he was in real life :rotfl::rotfl:.

Hubby is making lunch today and the girls are floating around the house. I have not even got dressed yet but will remedy that in a minute. All I have to do today is some washing so it's a nice easy day for me.

I was so pleased to hear about the new dog Redruby, she sounds a little sweetie.
Gers, your squirrel visitor is just so cute. I remember seeing lots of red squirrels when I was a child but I haven't seen one in years now. Saying that, I love the grey ones too, they are just such sweet and funny characters. My neighbour used to have one visit who would tap on the kitchen window to get some nuts from her.

I hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx
  • Afternoon all,

Gers - Love the Squirrel :)

    RR - bet she stays...

We decided to take a chance on the weather and go to the caravan on Friday. Glad we did as it only rained a little bit yesterday morning. Went into Hastings for a mooch around and a bit of lunch. Loved the fact it was less busy than August.

    Not sure what's for dinner - I'm sure I'll find something :)

    Evening all,

the neighbours woke me in the early hours. They came in late and he'd had a few pints and they started rowing.

Still, we got our own back.... around 9am (when they were probably fast asleep) we returned the favour.:o

    Roll on Monday.

    Onwards and forwards into bedtime,

    have a great evening all.

  • Mrs LW - Cookie sounds great for you. Definitely see a Docky paw in that. Ozzie sends a welcoming slurp. Does Cookie spell better than Docky?

LW - hope you had a lovely anniversary weekend even if it was dog free. When do you get your next furry visitor.

RR - Just bow to the inevitable.

    Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o
  • Pass, I'll ask her tomorrow when we walk her but up till now she's been strong and silent on the subject of spelling, however she loves the idea of pigeons and squirrels and is prone to eating fallen acorns.....very much like Docky so I wouldn't be at all surprised if she was just as doglexic as he was!!! watch this space.........
