There's a lot of people who dislike first direct's mobile app - well they're releasing their new app by the end of the month.
- New quicker logon method (no more multiple clicks)
- Faster app
- Improved/refreshed new look
- A list of some of the upcoming transactions due to leave your account

I was wondering the same. I find the app to be perfectly acceptable for my needs. I use it daily to check my balance and make the occasional payment. I suppose that they could use the fingerprint scanner thingimy to log you on but they mightn't like trusting the hardware to give access to your accounts.0 -
Don't hold your breath waiting for any changes from First Direct.
Four years ago they planned to redesign their credit card, because it's too similar to the debit card and people were getting confused and using the wrong one in error. They dragged it out, and out and out, and in the end they dropped the whole idea and it never happened.0 -

They've printed the word credit on it, which doesn't stand out as clearly on the real card as much as it does in your photo. Originally, they planned to change the colour of the card and posted three different versions in the First Direct Lab for customers to choose from, and comment on. There were several hundred comments, mostly critical of all three designs. FD ignored most of the comments and it all went very quiet, until they abolished the Lab altogether, which just gave the impression that they don't like criticism.0
