in Credit cards
Hi,
A few months ago I bought a ring in USA. After some complications the seller agreed to send me a new one as replacement and I should send back the old one. Once I got the replacement there were some further complications. So he agreed for a refund and I'm about to send them both back.
I asked the seller if he had my credit card details on file for the refund. However he says he doesn't. But once he has the rings, he would ask me for it.
I trust him to keep his word. But can a refund happen only via a credit card number? And does it have to be the same credit card number I used to purchase the ring in first place?
Many Thanks for advice,

You can get a refund via your credit card number and make sure you have the original receipt to improve your odds of winning the dispute over the charge made on your credit card. If the store allows returns within one week, you cannot get the refund from your credit card company past the returns period.
Yes it does have to be the same credit card number that you used to purchase the ring.0 -
You can ask you card issuer for your old card details if need be.
Then the refund will be routed to your new card details providing it's the same card issuer / account.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0
