To correct the runtime error 339 try installing a new version of comctl. I was hoping the update of windows would do this but it seems not. Read this to install a copy of comctl32.osx.....

    http://www.imagedig.com/page6.html

Hopefully this will mean the Rogue Remover will now work.

    Let us know what happens.

I am running SAS now and post a log this evening.

The Run error is 371. Will imagedig still work?

    Regards

    Sorry, my misquote.

The point is that you need to get a new copy of Comctl32.osx to get Rogue Remover to work. Imagedig is a place were you can get it.

If you get a copy of that file elsewhere feel free.

However, let's see what SAS says first and what it fixes.

    The log is fairly clean.

Please update Superantispyware to the latest definitions and scan your computer with it again. Save the scan report and post it here.

    **********

Open HJT ... click on 'Do a System Scan Only'... put a tick/check mark next to this entry IF still present ...

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/cust.../www.yahoo.com

Remember to close ALL open browser windows – including this one – before clicking on “Fix Checked” at the foot of the HijackThis window.

    **********

This probably nothing but I want you to check it.

Please go to VirusTotal here ……..

    http://www.virustotal.com/en/indexf.html
    • In the middle of the page you'll find a "Browse" button.

      virustotal2.jpg

Click the "Browse" button and browse to this file ……….

      C:\Program Files\Winamp\Winamp3\winampa.exe
    • Click "Open".
    • Then click the "Send File" button at the bottom of the VirusTotal page.
    • This will scan the file. Please be patient.
    • Once scanned, copy and paste the results in your next reply.
    **********

How is the computer working now? Any better? Are you getting any messages like you did in your first post here?

Please post a fresh HJT log and the full location address of any malware picked up by Virusscan or other scanners.

The log is free of malware but you haven't posted the reults of the Virustotal winampa.exe file I asked for nor the results of the latest Superantispyware scan.

    Please do so.

Also please use your computer thoroughly and let us know how it's operating now.
