Hi can anyone advise me please on this. Their terms state that you must complete a 'full switch' of your account. I was under the impression that there was no requirement to pay in a set amount. Does this mean then that they require you to close your old account?

All the bonus offers require you to use the CASS (Current Account Switch Service), which automatically closes your old account. If you don't want a certain account to be closed, you need to find a different one for the switch.
You are correct, M&S do not require you to pay in any set amount. It's all in the T&Cs that you have to agree to if you want to go ahead.0
