Moving frozen food to new freezer

We just leave all white goods on the drive - the scrap men collect them - is that not something you can do?0

The blankets work well when combined with the box(es) which do a better job of stopping air flow.
If there's time to freeze bottles or bags of water to go between the food and the box/blanket layers the food part will probably stay frozen for a couple of days, though you'd want to put ice cream in the middle of the heap, not at the edge. I've done this sort of thing myself and a couple of days is cautious, not ambitious, once you have a sufficiently large heap of frozen things and plenty of insulation around it all.0 -
Hi
I work at Hotpoint and if you have any queries relating to your delivery, please call our helpline on 03448 111 211. They will be able to guide you through the delivery journey0 -
I never understand why people allow these chains to take away their old appliances unless they are truly broken.
Surely the MSE way would be to sell it to someone who can't afford new or to donate it to charity.0 -
I'd take advantage of their free removal as it can be difficult to dispose of an old fridge / freezer. Our local "scrap dealers" wont take them and the council charge £30 to dispose. Check the council web site to see what your local council charges before you rely on that method.0

The companies will often give it to a refurbishment charity or similar. And the fact is that while some people live super-MSE lives, most of us are just trying to get reasonably good deals and understand money.
Sometimes I'll sell something for the money, but other times I can't be bothered with the hassle of having the Freezer sit in my front room for 3 days, finding a buyer (including messing about on Facebook or eBay or whatever), waiting in for someone who may or may not turn up, helping them load a freezer into a too-small car etc, all for £20... sometimes you just want rid of whatever it is."You did not pull yourself up by your bootstraps. You were lucky enough to come of age at a time when housing was cheap, welfare was generous, and inflation was high enough to wipe out any debts you acquired. I’m pleased for you, but please stop being so unbearably smug about it."0
