Is something like Conjunctivitis a pre existing condition?

After a bit of advice.
Our dog, 2 yr old border collie, had conjunctivitis after being at the dog sitter while we were on holiday about 3 weeks ago. His insurance is coming up for renewal in a few weeks and we'd like to change. *he's all better now and has a clean bill of health*
Is this classed as a pre existing condition? The vet didn't know what caused it. We obviously didn't make a claim as the cost was so small.
He's also had a bout of loose stools (separate time), is that a problem with taking out a new policy? *no cause identified*
We're not bothered about further bouts of conjunctivitis being excluded on a new policy but would other eye conditions be excluded?
Sorry if they're silly questions but we thought we'd ask.
Thanks.

It depends on who the company is.
Petplan do tend to make wide exclusions on pre existing conditions.
They would probably exclude ant further eye conditions- and that would be both eyes as they are bilateral.
Loose stools could cause an exclusion for any further digestive conditions.
I would suggest you phone any cpmpany yu are interested in and ask what would they would exclude.
They may cover pre exisitng condtions aftr a certain length of time without a reccurance.
You do not need to have claimed to have a pre existing condition. Just asking the vet about it is enough.0 -
Ah right thanks. We'll probably ring any prospective new company then.
We'll change regardless tbh as Petplan have pushed the cost up a little too much for us and it's only the 2nd yr! We'll make up some cash in a bank account as well as another policy.Thank you to everyone who posts comps! :A
