Hmmmm.
op - you'd be entirely right to say it's NOMB, but I am concerned by what this 'deal' has meant for you.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

You are right, I didn't lose out. They reimbursed me after I paid it.
The deal included me signing an endorsement. My suggestion and they accepted with no admission of liability.
These people either know and deliberately act this way or genuinely have no clue. I was glad we got a result though. In all likelihood they would have just added the endorsement at renewal so it suited me to be honest. There are other issues at play here as well so I made a deal to focus on bigger issues with the LA. This was just one of many.
Before I came to this forum I was pretty certain that my tenancy agreement trumped everything but thank you all for confirming.
The PPC is supposed to be there for the benefit of us but last time a neighbour called them because s rogue car was in his space, they didn’t turn up. 12 hours later the rogue car owner collected his car and drove away laughing. What a joke the PPC is.
They did use the word “fine” in correspondence but I would expect nothing less from these people. Trying to explain this to them would fall on deaf ears.0 -
The fact remains that these parking companies only make a profit if they issue tickets - there is little or no other revenue source.
So, if there is no rogue parking, or just one car (which they missed!) their ONLY source of revenue is to ticket legitimate residents. It doesn't work from a business perspective any other way.
They will TELL the Management Co. that they will manage everything and to fob off any complaints to them, and will tell them that their signs give them adequate authority to ticket and charge.
All rubbish of course, but if you're a management company with little nouse, then why would you disbelieve it? Or even better, get the management company on board by offering them a backhander for each ticket paid?
Astonishing, I know. But it goes on every day up and down the country as evidenced by the threads on here and other forums.
Getting people to pay for parking tickets on their own (rented or owned) property. Only in Broken Britain.... [/rant]Je Suis Cecil.0 -
Ntca - thankyou for answering that point.
Now this:

This must be a deliberate lie, used with intention to obtain money by deception.
Please take this further - BPA for starters.
From their site, I note the peculiar exhortation to Buy Now, beneath varying amounts, which start at £65.
Other thrilling choices are -
PCN (1) 14 days + £105,
PCN (2) £75,
PCN (2) 14 days + £145 ,
PCN (3) 14 days + £125.
Then this, in tiny greyscale below:
There will be a £5.00 card transaction fee for all card payments (already added). If you do not want to pay the charge, please refer to any other payment options available to you.I find nowhere to access 'any other payment options', therefore to pay the lesser sum.#
Surely this is also against the law, both in the sum and in its pre-emptive application?
All the business end is written in the same tiny greyscale, not easy to pick through.

op - Will you pursue this? I underatand if other LL/MA difficulties make you feel disinclined to do so.

The actual charging of £5 as a transaction fee for credit card and debit card charges is against the law. The charge should be the actual cost (debit cards 20p roughly, 2% for credit cards) and I reported them to Trading Standards. Hopefully they will do soemthing about it.0
