We're currently on a camping holiday in France. Many sites and public places offer free/paid for internet access. Usually this is accessed with a code/password given at reception which is entered on a login page which comes up when first trying to access the internet.
All has been OK until a couple of days ago when my laptop refuses to load the login page and I get an error message that the page I have entered (eg BBC.co.UK) can not be accessed. The laptop is not picking up the login page.
Any help or suggestions appreciated.

This does happen sometimes and is usually down to a cache somewhere on your device having old information. Easiest way is to just go to a different site, e.g. asdf.com to force the laptop to use un-cached data. You might need to try a few times with different website names. My postings reflect my lifetime's experience and my opinion. Thanks - have tried this with several different sites and on three different browsers - still the same problem.0 -
Maybe the Hotspot isn't working. Can you ask (or just watch) others to see if their stuff is working. You could also ask at reception.0

Camping holidays and WiFi ranges are always an issue. My guess would be it's struggling to pick up a signal, or too many people are using the network across the campsite and the page is not loading for you.Total Debt Left: £14,843 / £23,954

It's strange because at the last campsite all worked fine for one day bit not the next and the problems remained at the current site. In both places I was logged onto the campsite internet with a good signal but just can't bring up the logon page.
I've done a flush DNS but this hasn't helped.0 -
You having a strong signal is only an indication of the wifi connection you have. The problem arises if there are 50 (or 5 depending on how good their setup is) of you all connected at the same time (and all will likely show a good signal). As Ash has said, if there are congestion issues between the router and server, then you likely won't get anything to load as the bandwidth just won't be there to cope.0

Success!
Have just been to Reception who have obviously encountered this before. They suggested that I move to another place in the campsite to log on where the signal is better.
Now sat in the bar having a beer and logged on nicely!
Thanks to everyone for their help and suggestions.0 -
Doh! Should have gone to the bar first!!!!0
