Trying to keep to the slimming rules but youngest goes to Liverpool tomorrow and as it is her "last meal" she has requested lasagne and garlic bread.

I will have the mince and veg base with some loosely mashed boiled potatoes on top which should be suitable for me.

Can hear thumping upstairs as youngest is packing and sorting out her bedroom. Found her some sturdy shopping bags to put shoes in and going out later for a few bits and pieces.

Older dd has popped in to use our phone and get some advice on making a "healthy" chicken and mushroom pie using a potato pastry topping idea of the hairy bikers diet book.

Two loads of washing are on the line outside.

MrsL

So pleased you are enjoying the dog walking.

Hope you are enjoying your holiday.

Hugs to all

• Afternoon all
I was up at 5 to hang my washing out as it's meant to rain tomorrow.
Then on to work, left at 2 collected DGD4 to take her to dance class, then I'll swap here for DGD7 for an overnight stay.
On Monday DGS11 is finishing school at 1 and then going back from 5 until 8, I'll do the dropping off & collecting as DD is at work & it will save SIL waking the babies to go out.
Mrs LW. nice to hear you so happy.
LW. hope you are having good time.
White Sage, I used to just shut the bedroom door, I refuse to tidy up after them.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester
Chin up, Titus out.
• Up early for my occ health appointment at uni. Clean bill of health and fitness to practice certificate signed, DBS back too (again clean because I'm well behaved :rotfl:) Start Mental Health Nursing training a week on Monday!

Since I have been home I have been tackling the oven in stages. Just used bicarb and washing up liquid so far but didn't wear gloves and now my fingers are sore, damn my sensitive skin!

Also booked the hotel for our first proper holiday away. We're going to Guernsey for 5 days next May. I used to go there when I was a kid on family camping holidays and OH has never flown before so it will be a nice short plane ride for him. It's months away but I am really excited already :j. Got some saving up to do before then so going to be budgeting a bit more stringently especially with me no longer working full time and being a student!

Got to get an early night tonight working a 12 hour bank shift tomorrow!

Afternoon all,

Lyn.....so happy for you, enjoy your new walking pzrtner.

Tru...I have trouble with Mossy on any kind of lead.....he drags me, using all of his 29kg., I dont take him on the road at all as we have no footpath for almost half a mile and he kills me! They have a quarter acre back garden to romp in so think they ok.

TA....hugs to you and Mr TA, hope that treatment is available soon.

Fancied liver and bacon today but OH got steak, it was lovely with cauliflower, broccoli and pak choi.....but not what I wanted!!

We have had a few drops of rain, looks as if there will be more, so no washing out, not much in basket, so can wait a few days.

Just had a call from DS2, he is in Heathrow waiting for a delayed flight to Thailand so I presume that he was just filling up time as flight is not now until 8pm.

Csarina...sorry to hear that OH has had a dizzy......hopefully it was just a once in ablue moon one wont happen again....enjoy your nap.

About time I did something useful, such as making some jam, stewing some apples to have with custard later, might even do some crochet while watching the tennis.

Have a good evening everybody, stay safe.

I had it in my head that a dog should learn to walk properly on a short lead, then it'll be safe to use a long lead and eventually progress to being off-lead. The behaviourist said that while there's nothing wrong with that, it won't work for us because Scampi wasn't socialised when he was very young. On a short lead, his fight or flight decision is taken away from him and he feels trapped - so obvious once she'd pointed it out. He's been off-lead a few times now, in a park away from roads, and he's fine when people or dogs turn up. He loves his long lead (I don't like it, the handle is bulky and I can't grip it properly, lol). He has a few doggy mates so has been learning good doggy manners :D
I don't know if it would be an option for you, but when I take the canine guests out, I wear a webbing belt (it was a freebie with a pair of Mr LW's jeans) and thread that through the handle of the dog's lead before fastening it round my waist. I started doing this because my hands are so arthritic, but it does also mean flexi-leads are easier to use as you're not having to hold the bulky bit that the lead retracts into.
Just a thought.:o

Case is all but packed; just a few last-minute things to go it, like my eyedrops, stuff like that, and we're set to go at 09:00 tomorrow morning.:o
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
• Good evening everyone,

Yeah, its Friday :j It has been a lovely sunny day here, and all the towels have been washed and dried. I do have some ironing from yesterday to catch up with later.

Well finished work for the week. DH and DS are out at work, so just me and DD tonight. We had a salad for dinner with cheese and onion whirls and chips, very nice. I did a bit of housework earlier as I haven't done any all week:eek: I will do the rest tomorrow.

It is lovely to hear all the doggy stories so nice to read.

csarina, sorry to hear about DH I hope he is feeling better.
Mrs TA I do hope your DH starts his treatment soon.

Hugs to everyone.

I hope everyone has a good evening.
