Thanks cloud_dog! I think i am getting there! The maximum amounts are beyond our reach at this time, so I am safe on these, just would like all the facts for future reference, don't want to become a cropper and have all our hard earned savings for our daughter get slashed by tax! I'll look into the inheritance tax. Cheers!

Paul - Yes you are right, it's not as simple as i first thought, i wanted to get it sorted tomorrow as i am always working and i have tomorrow off!

I have already opened the CTF with Britannia (good as any at this time with 6%) And have the A&L account, which will have to be moved, but i have time on that!

But after this discussion, i am going to revise and educate myself before jumping in! I find it unbelievable that something so simple in principle is so complicated!

Do you have any suggestions, that may have been missed here?
