  • Good luck Snaggles!

It's not as bad, but we get paid four weekly instead of calendar monthly, and its a pain in the @r$£ for monthly DDs.... I'd much rather be paid on a certain day of the month, then I can set all my DDs to come out a few days later, so I know how much money I actually have left. I ended up having to open a seperate acc just for bills so I didn't confuse myself!

Hope u don't frazzle urself too much trying to sort it!

Okay.....of the £1364.84 bills, only £735.84 of these go from our 'bills' account. So £735.84 divided by 4 = £183.96, so that's how much Stu needs to transfer over to our bills account per week (I've divided by 4 because there will definitely be at least 4 paydays per month).

In fact because we're not paying for contact lenses at the moment, we can make it £180 per week, which gives him £20 per week spending money.

Then there's £629 still to be paid out, which is food, petrol, sharesaves, car tax savings, and lottery/birthday club (at work).

My SMP will cover food and petrol (£350) with £65 left over.

£65 (left over) + £120.80 (child benefit) + £110 (child tax credit) = £295.....which is enough to cover sharesaves, car tax savings and birthday club, with £16 to spare....which can be my monthly spending money....woo, whatever will I spend it all on....lol!!

Sorry if that doesn't make sense....I'm still double checking it to see if it adds up..... :p

Edit - just realised things are tight because we haven't had a 5 week month yet since Stu has been getting paid weekly - but I will work on the above basis, and then when we do have a 5 week month, it will be a bonus!

    Just a quick update!

Stu has been told he might be taken on permanently in his new job! :T We wont know for a while, but it's promising at least. And the hours he's working will fit in with the hours I want to do when I go back to work, which is fantastic. The only slight issue would be that he might have to do some Saturday mornings, and I think I will be working Saturday mornings too, but we can work around that with the help of Stu's Mum.

And I got a bargain yesterday (in Home Bargains!), a Boots brand bottle keeper cooler (bag & ice pack) for 99p! I needed something to keep expressed milk cool in when I go out, and this is perfect. It comes with a '2 hour' ice pack, but you can put a bigger one in to make it stay cool longer.

Oh, and I bought Ryan a skeleton costume for halloween for £4. Spooky! :D
