    Hi Snaggles
Natasha is gorgeous - I love the face when she realises she's looking in a different direction like; " wow how did I get here". I love virutal babies they are so good, don't keep me awake at night and smile all the time - now why weren't my "real" babies like that - lol!!

Awww, thank you!! She IS a good baby really, although she has her moments, like any kid does (and she has a RIGHT set of lungs on her when she decides to use them!). But I'm so glad we had her! :D

Just need to convince Stu about a third one now......;)

Lol, don't worry, I've got NO chance!

Anyway.....money.... (waddaya mean you only come for the baby-talk?? :D).

Basically we still have no idea how much money we've got - Stu has gone from being paid monthly to being paid weekly which has thrown a spanner, a chisel and a pair of pliers into the works. But so far the bills account has £586 in, with (I think) £522 still to go out in bills, and the shopping account has £184 in, with 4 weeks shopping still to get, so £46 per week.

My account is £50 overdrawn, but that's because my child benefit money hasn't gone in yet, and I've got an overdraft limit of £250, so I'm not getting charged anything except a little bit of interest.

    We should be fine....I hope!!

Multiply by 4 and 1/3 to get a monthly total - and take it from there...

The problem with that is the direct debits are not evenly spaced throughout the month - so I wont get a true picture of whether or not we're solvent for a couple of months. But for now that's how I'm doing it.

There's an overdraft limit on that account too, so it's not a major problem if the balance dips below zero temporarily, but obviously I don't want that to happen if I can help it!

It may be worth giving yourselves weekly "spending money" as (IIRC) IA does. If you divide your DD bills by 4 1/3 and subtract from his weekly wages, then that may give you better visibility of your situation.

    Morning!! Happy Wednesday! :D

I managed to get a reasonable amount of sleep last night, so I'm ready to tackle our accounts today, to try and work out a new budget. I'm just going to make a rough guess about how much Stu will get paid on Friday, and then alter it if I'm wrong.

So if you haven't seen me around by lunchtime, please will someone come and rescue me from our under-stairs-cupboard, where I will have collapsed under a pile of bank statements and payslips......
