    What you said was PERFECT for the situation. I dont believe in sugercoating things, I dont think it helps anyone.
    Speaking as a mum who has had more than one diagnosis she didnt really want I can say that its better to have one than not.

    No-one wants to hear that there perfect little bundle isnt *quite perfect* but with a diagnosis you have something to fix/work on.

    What you said was well put, thoughtfull and very eloquent (unlike me :o)
